PAR-TAY TIME!

Welcome to my annual Valentine party. 

I toad you it’s time for us to have a Valentine’s Party!

I’m serving a box lunch for my friends – just to let them know that I “heart” them.

So, come on in and get a boxed lunch, my friend.

Be sure to get your napkins.  the larger, red one is to put in your lap, so your boxed lunch won’t get your clothes messed up.  The smaller white one is to dab your mouth and fingers.

Don’t forget to get something to drink.

You can come back later for an “after lunch” mint.

Go ahead.  Open your box and help yourself to some lunch.

OOOPS! I DO HAVE A FEW MORE VALENTINES

I know I told you I didn’t have any more Valentine cards to put anywhere in my home.  Ummm (hanging head), I forgot I have just a few on the buffet in the sunroom.  I’m linking this buffet (with the shameful few Valentine cards) to Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

THE LAST OF THE VALENTINE CARDS (I think)

If you’re tired of seeing my Valentine card collection, you can now rejoice, because this is my last Valentine card décor post this year (I’m almost sure).  I am partying at A Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday.

I really only have a few cards displayed on the buffet behind our sofa.

You can’t count the Queen of Hearts as a Valentine card, right?

Anything placed on this buffet is visible from both sides, so, the Queen of Hearts is backed by the King of Hearts (also not a Valentine card).

I previously shared my “snow birds mantel”.  I wasn’t ready to let my snow birds fly away, so, guess what I added to decorate my mantel for Valentine’s Day.  I’m sure you guessed correctly.  (I’m so predictable.)   I added Valentine cards!  

 

I also added Mr. and Miss Penguin, dressed for their Valentine’s date.

(Update on our grandson, Cooper:  He is improving daily.  Although he’s still on oxygen and will be for months, all of his signs are really good.  Recently, one of the nurses in the ICU remarked to my son, “I don’t know who you have praying for this baby, but tell them to keep it up, because they are doing an incredible job!”  YOU and GOD are doing an incredible job, so as the nurse said, please keep it up!  Thank you so much.  laurie)

YES, I HAVE MORE VALENTINE CARDS!

In previous posts, I showed you some of my Valentine cards on the bookcase (here) and on the piano (here) in the study.

I also have a few in my back entry, along with my vintage chalkboard.

There are a few on the hutch in our family room.

And, there are some on the cabinet in our kitchen.

LOVE WARMS THE HEART

I know there are some in Blogville who have a “thing” against Valentine’s Day.  I can only hope that everyone has someone (even if it is a pet) who loves them, because love (even if it is not romantic love) warms the heart.

I guess you can tell that I have nothing against Valentine’s Day.  It’s obvious I have nothing against collecting Valentine’s cards, since I’ve covered the top of the piano with them!

 

Some of the cards I showed in my previous post were kept by my mother from mine and my sister’s childhood.  When I cleaned out her house, I was happy to find them.  The older ones were collected by a friend of mine.  When Charlie Ann no longer wanted her collection of Valentine cards, I was the very lucky recipient of her collection!  I have mixed a few reproduction cards in with the vintage cards.

I printed this game from a blog last year (I’m so sorry I can’t remember the blog name).  I always point the arrow to “Rich Man”.  I know, it’s a little late for that kind of wishful thinking, but my sweetheart is rich in wonderful attributes, so I consider myself fortunate to have married a rich man.

Those of you who have visited my blog long enough know that this collection is usually on the mantel in our family room.  I recently posted about my “snow birds” I used on my mantel (here).  I was enjoying my birds so much that I wasn’t ready to replace them with Valentines.  I did add a little Valentine décor to the birds on that mantel, and I’ll share that soon.
